Do you want to make a real difference?

Here, you contribute to creating safety for people and communities. What you do matters.

The CMTE (Air Frame and Safety Equipment) area is our collective expertise in maintenance and repair at the component level. We primarily work with maintenance on aircraft systems, and our main customers today are the Armed Forces, FMV, and air forces operating Gripen.

The section you will be part of consists of about 19 employees and is located in Malmslätt, Linköping. You will join our production group, which works together on maintenance and repair, primarily for Gripen.

Your role

Within the structure group, located in Malmslätt, modifications and repairs of damaged structural objects in metal and composite are carried out, such as wing control surfaces, noses, aircraft hoods, etc. The group is also responsible for repairing damage to glass, such as hoods and windows through grinding, polishing, and glass replacements. As the structure group is part of Safety Equipment, repairs and modifications of flight helmets are also performed. Other types of collaborations occur between teams, as the workload can vary. As the business grows, we see a need to expand the team with an additional person.

In your role, the work will involve inspecting newly arrived objects for damage together with Engineering and making remedial decisions. Engineering is then responsible for job preparation. You will also be responsible for ensuring that time estimates are made, materials are ordered, and that work orders are handled correctly in our Business System (IFS Sherpa).

The work involves tasks such as disassembly, assembly, blasting, grinding, polishing, and repairs of composite/metal/glass, etc., based on technical documentation. Several tasks require special training and certifications, which also means significant development opportunities. In the role, you will also work on learning and continuous improvement of the operations, focusing on creating an operation with efficient flows.

Some work, such as hoods, is performed at the customer's site, so some travel may be required.

Your profile

As the work in the structure group is broad, with tasks in areas such as composite, metal, and glass, you may have a background in one or more of these subfields. Otherwise, we will work on further education to increase breadth and develop you further.

As a person, you enjoy working with others, as you will collaborate with both your immediate team and other contact areas such as engineering and procurement. To fit into the role, you need to be meticulous and quality-conscious. You should be patient, flexible, and skilled at planning and organizing your work efficiently, as the job requires the ability to keep track of several objects simultaneously.

If you have previously worked with composites or as a sheet metal worker in aviation, it is highly meritorious. A sense of surfaces is also central when polishing. It is also advantageous if you have relevant education or experience in aviation technology, composite work, or structural metal repairs.

As the job involves reading technical documentation, good knowledge of English and Swedish is a requirement.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.

What you will be part of

Discover endless possibilities. Take on challenges, create smart innovations, and upgrade your skills. This is a place for clever thinkers, brave pioneers, and everyone in between. Together, we achieve the extraordinary, each bringing their unique perspective. Every contribution counts.
